The Lone Ranger Trailer

The only thing that worries me is that I've seen far too many trailers that had all the good stuff and the rest was crap.

Oh, and the guy playing the Ranger, Armie Hammer(what's up with that name?) is playing opposite Tom Cruise in The Man From U.N.C.L.E., another long time favorite headed for ruin I'm afraid.

Hugely disappointed with so much about this one. I hope it tanks.

It's a 2013-era film that seems to take the best from the earlier incarnations, but give it a modern spin. It'll be loads of fun.

Dynamite Comics did a series recently that was quite good.

Agree with Randy that the train going over the blown bridge is likely the big ending.

Chris: what is disappointing to you? And what is 'your' Lone Ranger? I first knew him via old radio shows, then the late 1970s movie.

Randy, I'm not sure we need another spy film from the 60's remade. Cruise as Solo? Whew!

Chris, I've only just seen the trailer but Depp (who I like) seems off as Tonto. Maybe the film will convince me otherwise.

Scott, That shootout in the train cars reminds me of the Sundown Express. :)

That looks very Hollywood. It's hard to tell from the the trailer, but I fear the movie is full of racial stereotyping. Why can't a Native American actor play Tonto?

Thanks for sharing the trailer as I was curious.

Never really was a Lone Ranger fan.

Sarah, I agree on the VERY Hollywood look. I like Depp but, well, I'll wait until I see the performance. It seems a little overly familiar in this trailer.

Charles, Same. But I recently viewed the first Clayton Moore episode on Hulu and it has aged well.

I love William Fichtner, for all those Action junkies like me you can watch it here - http://essayswriters.org/college/
