Let's Go Racing

Here's a damn fine documentary: Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans (2015). More than just a racing film but rather what obsession does to the human psyche. Recommended for not just fans of  The King of Cool (The Great Escape, The Getaway) but viewers who like human interest stories and well sliced together documentaries.

It's currently available for free on Amazon Prime.

Sounds interesting. I was always a fan of McQueen

Same here, Charles. And this docu delves relatively deep into this complicated man's life and work. Warts and all.

David – This sounds like a good documentary. I’ve seen LE MANS on TV and liked it a lot. But I don’t think it was well received when it came out. Give McQueen a machine – a car, a motorcycle, or a ship’s engine – as in the great film THE SAND PEBBLES – and the man was right at home. Thanks for the post.

Elgin, THE SAND PEBBLES! Now there's a film I need to see again. Brilliant.

David, I enjoy watching Steve McQueen's films. I think he was a very fine actor, intense in an unassuming kind of way. I'd like to see this documentary, partly because of your high recommendation.
