Love this one.
Like an old Gold Medal Original paperback leapt to life. Wonderful repartee, ham-tastic performance by Vincent Price, ultra-manly performance by Mitchum, and a blistering climax with one of the first prominent uses of a "blood quib" in Hollywood history.
Crack a beer and enjoy.

I did, Peter. The climax was justifiably famous and, you know, for all the beating Howard Hughes took for his filmmaking he did turn out some memorable flicks like His Kind of Woman. I read a recent Mitchum bio and his take on the billionaire and this film was a hoot.
