Have you ever had that sensation of extreme exhilaration? The kind that doesn't
go away for days? That's how I feel when a proof of a new book arrives in the
mail. Seeing that book, picking it up and leafing through it for the
first time--I imagine it's comparable to my daughter's pride in completing a
task on her very own and her joy in seeing the cat and squealing "m-ow" for
the umpteenth time.
Anyway, here's the arrival of BEAT to a PULP: ROUND TWO proof. Over the next
few days, we'll be going through it one last time.

Looking great!
What a great cover!
even more gorgeous!
It really is a smashing cover. Mr. O'Barr always delivers in a big way. We had asked for two pilots struggling as a plane is crashing and he went a step farther by having it crashed, guns blazing, water rushing in, and a damsel in distress. We couldn't be happier!
Bloody brilliant - have fun, and looks great!
Unfair. Now I have to wait to see what's inside that incredible cover... Well done, amigo!
Yay!
Thanks, Andrez!
Ron, Vin Packer and Bill Pronzini are on board. And that's just the first two stories! Then we have Gorman, Crider, Reasoner, Vicki Hendricks and Dave Zeltserman to name a couple others.
Leah, :)
I'll make sure you get a copy, Randy.
Oh, man! I love that dog-eared look. Like some gem you uncovered in an old bookstore.
That was all John Bergin's brilliant idea. I've had a couple readers pick it up for the first time and be fooled that they had an old copy.
Congrats! A fine looking tome. When's the release?
It should be this week, Rich. But I first promised this antho last November. Bets are off. :)
lookin good
So cool looking, man. Just wow!
I've been saying 'Can't wait!' since last November and guess what? I still can't wait!
This is terrific, David - congratulations! (and love the pic - it completely captures that feeling when the proof arrives. I printed it out, and it's on my fridge!)
Terrific, looks spectacular.
Great job David!
I want that box on my doorstep!
Thank you, all.
And I finished proofing today and we will begin loading the files up to CreateSpace tomorrow.
