Book Is Judged by the Name on Its Cover

Twelve publishers passed on Ms. O’Brien's THE DRESSMAKER. Then she adopted a pen name and her book sold in three days.

Publishing is a crazy alternate universe. I subscribe to the NYT but somehow I missed that article. Thanks for sharing it.

I read that story to my husband this morning. Book Scan takes no prisoners. You are only as good as the copies your last book sold.

I think so, Charles. I could understand if she had a string of failures but that's not the case.
