I first read Raymond Chandler because he was mentioned in a song by Jim Carroll.
I was introduced to Chandler (the whole class was) by a master in my first term at Grammar School. I think my parents took a dim view, thought the school should be expanding my horizons!
Which song, Dan? I wouldn't mind giving a listen.Dave, I would have loved to read Chandler in school. Our selections were either too safe or boring.
The song was "Three Sisters" from his first album Catholic Boy.
I will search the song out, Dan.
