Blogger Issues

I'm still having trouble leaving comments on certain blogs. So if I regularly stop by your site but you haven't seen anything from me lately, I apologize but something is still amiss with Blogger.

Is it time for me to Tweet?

I've been getting periodic 503 errors whenever I try to edit a few of my posts. Usually I get frustrated to the point of chucking my computer out the window.

Seriously though, I think its leftover headaches when Blogger imploded a couple of weeks ago. I've had to purge my cookies and tweak my Internet security in order to get Blogger to work for me correctly.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, Patti. I see Bill Crider posted yesterday as well regarding this issue.

G, Good idea. I will clear the cookies. I usually do this on a regular basis but it has been a few weeks since the last time I purged. (Love that word.) :)

I don't have blogger of course, but I had trouble commenting on some posts on favorite blogs and finally just gave up. That was a few days back and haven't had problems since.

I haven't had any trouble with blogger, but gmail has been acting up for me.

I've had the problem, and have received emails from people telling me they couldn't comment. A lot of these problems existed before the latest big crash, particularly with Mac users, supposedly.

Maybe it's time to switch to a different blogging platform. I only have about 6 or 8 commentors -- I can't afford to lose any to frustration! It will make my pointless blog seem . . . pointless! Heh.

me too. It's everywhere. I think Bloger is just straining it's limits and too cheap to expand and improve, but I have a blog in Wordpress and it works much better.

Randy, It seems to be certain blogs and not others whereas last time it was across the board.

Chad, That reminds me I need to send something your way. Lets hope gmail works.

Chris, I hate to leave Blogger for the dozen plus faithful that have been kind enough to stick with me. Sidebar: I can always tell when someone jumps to Facebook or Twitter. It must be hard running that many networking platforms. (I'm not sure what my point is here.)

Richard, Wordpress has been recommended to me by several folks. And I think you're spot on regarding Blogger.

Quite a few folks would like to see you on the Twitter, David (but don't stop blogging!)

My blog posts have been quiet today, but then they're seldom what you would call "busy," and I've been able to comment on others...Blogger did do something weird for me, though. I had a post ready to go during the meltdown and when I went to put it up, there were two more copies of it in the queue. I waited a few days and finally deleted them, and now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop...

I think Blogger's inadequacy is showing.

Sort of a doubled edged sword with most blogging platforms.

It's free, but you also expect it to work at the top level just like the stuff you pay for.

I'm going to be on Twitter in the next couple of weeks. I have to keep track of what you and Holm are up to.

Your blog is one I'm having trouble with, Ron. Btw I enjoyed your review on the Langtry book. I'm a fan of the Jersey Lily. And I have a double post courtesy of Blogger as well.

Naomi, I think Richard pretty much summed up the problem above.

G, That would be a fair and balanced take for sure.

Heck yeah it is! ;)

(I'm having that trouble too.)

And based on my single trip up to Maine and my one visit to the beach while there, it's not quite the same as going to the beach here. I'm not sure I'd ever get in that water.

David Cranmer said...

Oh I haven't gone in the water since 1975. I, for one, listen to police chief Martin Brody!

Me too, too.

With Holm it's all about his daily word count and his allergies. Me, I'm all about rants and making fun of Steve Weddle

Looking forward to seeing you on Twitter. It's got a slightly different feel than other social platforms --I ditched it the first time I tried it. Now I'm there every day and really like it.

Charles, One must be careful.

Topics I will enjoy, Keith.

I'm really going to give it a spin, Rich.
