Beautiful Day

It was a beautiful day. I knocked out 2k words on a new Cash Laramie story I'm calling "The Lawyer" and read some submissions for BEAT to a PULP. And then there was this:

I had been losing when my opponent made an error I capitalized on. Two moves prior to this board, he asked for a draw but I knew I had him and went in for the kill. He resigned. For those who don't play the game, I am white and one move from checkmate.

Beautiful day.

Kewlness...especially when you're able to capitalize on an opponent's sloppy play.

Chudney, That it is.

G, I have to say he/she played extremely well. This player is a good 1,000 points above me and that made the win even sweeter.

Lord, I can't remember how many years it's been since I played chess.

looking forward to the new story.

So true, Ron.

Randy, You should try internet chess but beware it is very addictive.

I think the new story is one of the best and I don't normally say that. I'm introducing a villain that I hope to bring back again.

Evan, Gracias.

David, The weekend is off to a great start because I asked Little d (the mrs) for a fresh western topic I could write about and she provided a nifty idea. One I outlined this morning.

Alyssa, Are you making them or Butters? Either way I'm there.

Thanks for stopping by, Reb. I hope you and your cousins have a top Canadian weekend as well.
