It's funny, because when the first movie came out I remember sitting in the theatre and thinking, "Why the hell didn't they just make On Stranger Tides into a movie?"
I wholeheartedly recommend reading the spectacular book before that neighborhood situated west-northwest of Downtown L.A. leaves a lasting ugly impression.
This summer (hic) I re-watched the, um, (hic) first film and found that it still holds (hic) up well. (hic) I'll be a'looking ferwerd to (hic) the fourth film al--(hic)--though I'd'a liked them to (hic) end the whole she-bang with the (hic) third.

Wait, wait, wait, They have made a Tim Powers book in a Disney movie! The Apocalypse!
So funny! I’m sure I’m going with the kids. Too bad we have to wait until next May. Thanks for sharing the trailer.
The Powers book is tremendous. I live in fear they're gonna screw it up.
Cool.
Chris, yuou live in fear, me, and all who read the book. WEell, me not, i'm sure 100% the story is screwed already.
Deka, It's Hollywood and that makes it a 95% chance it will get screwed up.
Sarah, Yeah, another long year.
Chris, I haven't read it but I see why it was optioned. The storyline fits in the Pirates of the Caribbean world perfectly.
Evan, Indeed.

Well ON STRANGER TIDES is now on my list to read before I see the film.

No more Depp pirate movies. The first two were enough.
David, you're gonna love it. Right up your alley, and Powers writes beautifully. One of my faves.
Scott, Who knows, maybe they can turn it around. Chances are no but Penelope, for me, is worth a ticket anyway.
RReynolds, There seems to be a lot of that going around.
Chris, Just picked it up. I have one to read before TIDES and then I'll let you know.
:) cool stuff.
and thanks for your response on my blog.

I didn't want to watch this. I did anyway. Dear, oh dear... I may have to see this one.
hbynoe, And I'll be back. You have a terrific blog.
Ron, Same here. And, once again, Penelope!
Yeah, David. Sadly, you're right. And better not talk about my fears about the next Godzilla USA.
