Derringer

BEAT to a PULP has received two Derringer award nominations for "The Hard Sell" by Jay Stringer and "Identity Theft" by Robert Weibezahl. Congratulations to both and thanks for entrusting BTAP with such marvelous stories.

Also, kudos to Dave Zeltserman for being nominated in the novelette category for "Julius Katz." This was one of my favorite new detectives of last year that I mentioned here.

It's great to have a site like BTAP to give voice to writers and stories.

It was an honour to be on there, and hopefully i'll be on again.

FROM ELAINE ASH:
How proud are we? Virtual champagne corks are popping. "The Hard Sell" was a wonderful example of Brit Grit writing that David and I recognized as a quality piece and just had to have in BTAP. "Identity Theft" was timely, detailed, and high tension. We thought it could use a bit more in the fighting scene and a climactic twist that writer, Robert Weibezahl really delivered on.

Both stories are classic to their genres but with a little bit "more," a twist, a surprise, a fake-out, that sophisticated crime readers just didn't see coming.

My sincerest congratulations to Jay and Robert, Robert and Jay, for going the distance and honoring BTAP with Derringer noms. Thank you!
