"'Round Midnight" was written by Monk around 1944 I believe. The most recorded song in all of Jazz.

Monk was certainly a character wasn't he? Sharp sounding music just the same.

Theories abound about his eccentric personality and possible mental illness. It seems like he had anything from manic depression to schizophrenia.

Charlie Rouse, saxophonist. I meant to populate my blog on T-day with links to good music, as well, but was distracted by that old debbil Life. Thanks for the pointer.

Todd, I am glad there are so many other Jazz fans out there. Before the internet I thought I was alone.
