My Dad took us to Howe Caverns in NY state when I was a kid. It's something you never forget seeing. And...I just read a book that's set partially in a cavern called Last Words by Michael Koryta. It's excellent and brought back all those good memories and left some pretty creepy new ones :)
Sandra, You shot back a wonderful memory for me. I was at Howe Caverns when I was a young teen and would love to have that photo of me, mom, dad, and grandpa Fred. (Unfortunately it was destroyed in a fire.) GREAT memory! What made Howe better than Luray, in my opinion, is riding on the boat in the cave and then they turned out the lights.
Caves are just so incredible. We toured Carlsbad a few years back. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat they are, and I just Google Carlsbad. Stunning.

ReplyDeleteI agree, these are "gorgeous" and "stunning". I have never been inside a cave and when I do, I'll probably leave a trail.
