If you haven't seen it, you might be interested in the black western Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte made: BUCK AND THE PREACHER. Poitier plays the kind of cowboy hero that brings Bass Reeves and Gideon Miles to mind.

Ron, Terrific movie and Poitier is in top form there. But, then again, when isn't he?
I was reading a lot about him when I was working on Killing Trail. Definitely a fascinating character.
