The home of The Beatles, Stones, and Mrs. Peel. I love this city but why technical difficulties! Of course, I hope they take their time fixing it.
4:00 pm addendum: London Pride is a darn fine brew while you are waiting.
Addendum 2 (thirty minutes later): The second and third London Prides are even better. But being stuck when you want to get home sucks.
5:51 pm random bubly induced thought: what is the greatest airport film ever. Or maybe just the greatest scene in an airport. My quick pick is McQueen's Bullitt.
6:31 pm Patti Abbott has me looking at everyone's shoes. So far I'm spotting a lot of extreme pointed shoes. I can't say I like the style.
7:38 pm Chaos is close: Student protesters run wild in London, storm Tory HQ.
7:40 pm I've been told the plane will be ready soon. >>>>>>>
The Beatles?Ahem ...Abbey Road studio, mind you.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit Abbey Road but just wanna take a leap across the pond.
ReplyDeleteHeathrow? Don't remember anything about it except that it is huge! (and goes by in a blur when you are running to catch a plane at the other end of the terminal)
ReplyDeleteNo running, Reb. Stuck. Enjoying the local nip but that's about it.
ReplyDeletePssst...The Beatles are from Liverpool, David. BUT...I'll let you off as you're not from these parts. My wife had to go to London with a member of her staff for a course. Bearing in mind we lived in Manchester (London is south from there and 250 miles away) she ended up in Liverpool, west and 45 miles away. Only a woman. True story!
ReplyDeleteWell, I was thinking Abbey Road studios. Do I get a pass?
ReplyDeleteDave, to bad you ain't closer to Heathrow. Drinks are free.
Been to Gatwick but not Heathrow. London is not a bad town to be stuck in.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Oscar. One of the great cities. However, with the students protest I kept thinking of The Clash and the London's burning lyrics.
ReplyDeleteAh, airports. Not much to do there.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a suitable pass time.
Hey, didn't Paul McCartney have a song "London Town"? "Manchester, England, England" is in HAIR, so there. Whatever that all adds up to...
