Over at Criminal Element, I have some thoughts on Tom Selleck’s Westerns. I've been a big fan since first seeing The Shadow Riders back in 1982. I briefly look at four movies including Quigley Down Under and Monte Walsh. Stop by when you get a chance, and if you feel so inclined to leave a comment it would be appreciated.

Sandra, I actually was thinking of doing one on Sam. He's an incredible Western actor and, for a time, kept the fire lit almost singlehandedly. Btw I read where you picked Charles Gramlich's story that appeared at BEAT to a PULP. Couldn't agree more. :)
Yep, his and several others. Had a hard time not making the list all BTaP stories :) It was a great year for wonderful short stories
I tried leaving a comment, but was unsuccessful. The movie trailers were enticing. I recall Tom Selleck's cigarette ads for Marlboro, and a movie, though not a western, memorable for most of its background scenery: High Road to China.
Sandra, I believe we are in a new golden age of the short story thanks to the internet.
Barbara, I remember liking his Lassiter film but barely remember anything about High Road. Maybe a good time to take a second look.
