I'm looking forward to John Cusak playing Edgar Allan Poe. It's a shame they're changing the title because Poe locked that name in long ago. Still I guess the logical next best title would be Nevermore, right?
Hope it's a good 'un. I've long been a fan of John Cusak: THE GRIFTERS, ODD MAN OUT, SAY ANYTHING.
I once had an idea of teaming up Eleanor Roosevelt and Marilyn Monroe as a crime-detection team. You can tell from that idea alone why my genre writing career never got off the ground...
I second Ron's comment. Not the crime detection idea, the first part! Although he could be onto a winner with it if he had them both come back as ghosts!
I still get a kick out of the 1963 film starring Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Boris Karloff and a very young Jack Nicholson. I'm sure this new take will be totally different and far darker.
I heard a disturbing rumor years ago that Stallone was putting this project together. Please tell me that is not the case.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen his name mentioned anywhere.

ReplyDeleteRon, And I will add to your fine list High Fidelity, Pushing Tin,and Grosse Pointe Blank.
ReplyDeleteYou should write a story right now with ER and MM.
David, I think it would work better in the late 50s with those two.
Now that sounds interesting.

ReplyDeleteI'll watch anything about Poe.
