Snow

It started early this morning and is falling at a pretty good clip now.

  1. That's a fine fall of snow you've got.

  3. I should have waited another hour to snap the pic. Jeep is completely covered now.

  4. I don't know you feel about it, David, but I hate the snow. I really do.

Ours arrived over the weekend and is still here. This morning it brought 7 degree temperatures with it.

I wish they would both just go away.

  5. Here go my cliches but if I don't have to go out in it or it would just fall away from the roads I'm ok with it. Yeah, I don't care for it either.

Then why the hell do I stay?

  6. I won't let Lana see this. She has an aversion to snow after all her years in Canada.

  7. I moved to Iowa from the East Coast a few years ago... I didn't hate snow when I moved here, but I sure do now.

  8. I like it! I mean, I'm not an outdoors person and I don't drive or travel to work so it doesn't interfere with my life. The pubs and the house are warm, and so are the shopping centres, so being - 11 outside has litle effect on me. A couple of shots of vodka make waiting 10 mins for a bus great fun!

  9. Charles, I was a baby driving this morning. Absolute 100% baby.

Chris, As a teen I couldn't wait for days like this but now I'll take a pass. Maybe the joy will return when my daughter is jumping up and down and wants to go build a snowman. Maybe.

Paul, I've heard there are folks like you out there. :)

  10. Looks good. We good a small fall Saturday and it was all gone but a few isolates spots yesterday.

  11. I hope ours vanishes as quickly but I'm not betting on it.

  12. Started snowing in Brooklyn this morning, as well.

  13. What, no hard top for the Jeep? They are a necessity up here. Much like you, if I don't have to go out in it, snow is just fine. Shovelling it, or driving or waiting for the bus, not so much.

  14. Still just kind of cloudy here in the desert with the occasional sprinkle, but the snow has started accumulating at a safe distance on the mountains. Always makes a nice picture framed by palm trees. (Running for cover...)

  15. Hopefully ours has run its course, but I'm not holding my breath.

  16. Cullen, When I was in DC I remembered how the city was a little safe haven from the majority of the weather storms and then it would progressively get worse as I drove home to the subs.

Reb, I need a hard top. I though I was a rag top kind of driver but literally have never taken it off in three years. And I haven't taken care of it like I should.

Ron, I've always wanted to spend some time in your part of the country. You paint a beautiful picture here.

David, We're at the start. It's just getting ready for the main event.

  17. I hate snow and would do anything not to live where it snows. Anything except be far from my grandson that is.

  18. David,
Our sister is taking pictures too. She has not even begun to experience a New York winter again, poor little texan girl.
    Love, Mates

  19. David, we've has loads of the white stuff! Over the past week or so we've had well over a couple of foot (all together) with temps of -17!! And we're forecast for more. I love it, personally. Especially at this time of the year. A white Christmas. Can't beat it.

  20. Hey Neighbor!
I'm loving this white stuff. 'Bout time we got it, too. I'd rather shiver than sweat any day.

And besides, it's easier to spot sasquatches (sasquatchi?) when there's snow on the ground. As long as their coats haven't turned white yet....

  21. At least you got the fluffy white stuff to go with the cold temps.

All I's got is the cold temps and no snow, at least in the lower elevation where I live.

  22. Patti, I think someday I will understand that.

David, I hear you and I wish I could agree. But Christmas in the South Pacific would be perfect to me.

Matt, Hey that’s a photo op. The two of us tracking Bigfoot in Maine. You game?

    G, I'll switch.

  23. Mates, My fingers are crossed for her. The weather and the old battle axe. The odds are stacked against her!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah. Let's track it. You bring the whoopie pies, I'll bring the Allen's Coffee Brandy. Stake-out, Maine-style.

  25. I don't know about that. Your storm up there is shooting lasers our way and they're forecasting low temps and the real possibility of snow by the end of the week.

Already had stupid driving by others this morning because once again, people forgot that they live in southern New England.

  26. Matt, Stake-out, Maine-Style could become a weekly cop show.

G, That's my main beef with winter months: the other drivers.

  27. I can definitely see you as a Jeep guy, Legend.

And I really don't envy you the snow.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It is the closest thing to a horse that the Legend could find.

  29. Imagining may be the best approach. :)

  30. Wish we'd get some here. Sure would help the hunting.

  31. Travis, Good for hunting, snowball fights, and Santa's sleigh on the 24th but that's about it.

    Oh, and Rockwell paintings.
